Bauhaus Coffee - Pine & Melrose

The original painting is titled "Bauhaus Coffee - Pine & Melrose" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Capitol Hill I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Capitol Hill establishment that has since been replaced or forced to move by higher end businesses in this rapidly changing neighborhood. Capitol Hill is a neighborhood in Seattle that has been drastically impacted by gentrification. Bauhaus Coffee was at Melrose & E. Pine St.

The original painting is 19" x 19" x 3". I created the original painting in 2015 using beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: old maps, pieces of antique mail, and other found and salvaged collage elements from my very cherished personal collection.
