Harry's Grocery
The original painting is titled "Harry's Grocery" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Capitol Hill I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Capitol Hill establishment that has since been replaced by higher end businesses in this rapidly changing neighborhood. Capitol Hill is a neighborhood in Seattle that has been drastically impacted by gentrification. This image depicts the outside of Harry's Grocery, soon before every small business on the 500 block of East Pine Street was torn down in 2007.
The original painting is 10" x 8" x 1". I created the original painting in 2017 using beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: old maps, pieces of antique mail, sheet music, and other found and salvaged collage elements from my very cherished personal collection.
The original painting is currently available for sale for $350; please contact me if interested.
